Chronic Cystitis (Urinary Frequency/Incontinence)
VA disability rating criteria for Chronic Cystitis (Urinary Frequency/Incontinence) under Diagnostic Code 7512. The VA assigns ratings of 10%, 20%, 40%, 60% based on the severity and functional impact of your condition.
Rating Criteria
Urinary frequency: Daytime voiding interval between two and three hours, or; awakening to void two times per night.
Note: Chronic cystitis is rated as voiding dysfunction under 38 CFR § 4.115a. Rate based on the predominant disability — voiding dysfunction (urine leakage, frequency, or obstructed voiding).
Urinary frequency: Daytime voiding interval between one and two hours, or; awakening to void three to four times per night. OR voiding dysfunction requiring the wearing of absorbent materials which must be changed less than 2 times per day.
Urinary frequency: Daytime voiding interval less than one hour, or; awakening to void five or more times per night. OR voiding dysfunction requiring the wearing of absorbent materials which must be changed 2 to 4 times per day.
Voiding dysfunction requiring the use of an appliance or the wearing of absorbent materials which must be changed more than 4 times per day.
Note: 60% is the maximum rating for voiding dysfunction (urine leakage). Obstructed voiding has a maximum of 30%.
