Prostate Gland Injuries/Benign Prostatic Hypertrophy

VA disability rating criteria for Prostate Gland Injuries/Benign Prostatic Hypertrophy under Diagnostic Code 7527. The VA assigns ratings of 10%, 20% based on the severity and functional impact of your condition.

Rating Criteria

10%Disability Rating

Prostate hypertrophy or post-surgical residuals: Obstructive voiding symptoms (hesitancy, dribbling, decreased stream) controlled with medication; urinary tract infection occurring no more than once per year.

Note: Includes residuals of prostatectomy. Rate by greatest disability level.

20%Disability Rating

Prostate disorder with: Obstructive and/or irritative voiding symptoms with or without daytime voiding interval less than one hour, or with pelvic or urethral pain, or with weak stream requiring multiple attempts, or recurring urinary tract infections (2 or more per year).
