West Virginia Military Retirement Income Tax Exemption

Full exemption on all military retirement income (no cap)

West Virginia fully exempts all military retirement income from state income tax for tax years beginning on or after January 1, 2019. This includes retirement pay from the regular Armed Forces, Reserves, National Guard, and other uniformed services, as well as Survivor Benefit Plan (SBP) and RSFPP payments. The full exemption is permanent with no cap on the exempted amount.
