Louisiana Special Assessment Level – Property Tax Freeze

Assessed value frozen — prevents future property tax increases

Veterans with a service-connected disability rating of 50% or greater are entitled to a special assessment level that freezes the assessed value of their homestead, preventing property tax increases as property values rise. The freeze locks in the assessed value at the time of qualification.
